Lost Island theme park is opening its gates to guests on June 18.
The 42 acre Lost Island theme park is home to five themed ‘realms’, including Mura (fire), Yuta (earth), Awa (water), Udara (air) and Tamariki (spirit). The theme park also features a dark ride called Volkanu by Sally Dark Rides. Something that we covered during our time at IAAPA.
The park will be divided into five different realms that are all going to be heavily themed. So the experience will be closer to a Disney or a Universal Park than a Six Flags,” Eric Bertch told the Des Moines Register. “We will have a variety of rides available that range from kids’ rides up to some pretty impressive thrill rides.”
The Mura (fire) section of the park feature Volkanu by Sally Dark Rides, Shaman’s Curse which is a Zamperla Disk O’ Coaster, Rokava which is a Moser’s Rides Maverick Top Spin, and Mura Fury — Moser’s Rides Sidewinder.
The Yuta (earth) section of the park features Matugani — an Intamin Accelerator Coaster, Yuta Falls — an Interlink Super Flume, and Kukui Station — which is Bumper Cars.
The Awa (water) section features Alzanu’s Eye — a Ferris Wheel, Eeki Eeki Escape — a Flying Carousel, a Sea Swell — Swinging Pirate Ship, a Awaati Water Battle — Interlink Splash Battle, Nika’s Gift — a Carousel, Wakani Whirl — a Tea Cups ride, and Zulawa Wave — a Music Express.
Udara (air) section of the park features Amara Aviators — a Gerstlauer Sky Fly, Skyborne — a S&S Turbo Drop, Dream Spinner — a Zamperla Midi Family Swinger, and Nopuko Air Coaster — a Vekoma SLC with Extended Helix.
The Tamariki (spirit) section features kids attractions from the ride manufacturer Zemperla like a mini Ferris Wheel, Magic Bikes, and a Samba Tower.
The Lost Island theme park was preceded by The Lost Island waterpark which has been operating since 2001. The new theme park is owned by The Bertch Family and the cost of construction was estimated to be around $100 million.
Lost Island theme park opens this Saturday on June 18.
