Back in January, we saw reshuffling of executives at Walt Disney World. With Walt Disney World’s Senior Vice President of Operations Jim MacPhee’s retirement. MacPhee’s retirement left a void and Magic Kingdom Vice President Jason Kirk would receive a promotion and become the new Senior Vice President of Resort Operations.
After Kirk’s promotion, Epcot Vice President Melissa Valiquette would replace Kirk as Magic Kingdom Vice President. This would leave the EPCOT vice presidency open. Sarah Riles took over as the new Vice President of Animal Kingdom after the announcement of Djuan Rivers’ retirement.
This left the EPCOT vice presidency open until now as Kartika Rodriguez has been named Vice President of EPCOT. Rodriguez will be a part of EPCOT’s historic transformation and she will have a lot of important decisions ahead of her.
Rodriguez has been at Disney for 15 years. Back in 2006, she started as manager of Walt Disney World Industrial Engineering. Rodriguez’s most recent role before becoming VP of EPCOT was General Manager of EPCOT Park Arrival & Outdoor Vendor.
