Joe Biden Is Considering Disney Executive Chairman Bob Iger For An Ambassadorship Role

Bob Iger — who thought very hard about running for President in 2020 — is at the top of Joe Biden’s list for an ambassadorship role to China or U.K.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Biden administration is looking at Disney Executive Chairman Bob Iger to be an ambassadorship role to either China o the U.K. This makes a ton of sense considering Iger has hinted that he would be willing to join the Biden administration and that his next act in his life would feature politics in some shape, way, or form.

Also, it is important to note that Bob Iger was a top Hollywood donor for Biden and even gave $250,000 to The Biden Victory Fund. If Iger accepts the potential role it would officially mark the end of his time at The Walt Disney Company.

The China ambassadorship role would be fascinating considering the current relationship with the United States and China. Not to mention dealing with the fallout from the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in both China and the United States. Let’s throw in the fact that Disney and Bob Iger have had their fair amount of success with dealing with China it makes sense why Biden would consider him. Although, Disney’s successful and controversial relationship with China has been highlighted many times especially during its Disney+ release of Mulan.

If Iger doesn’t get the China role, the U.K. ambassadorship role would also be a good gig. It is one of the most coveted ambassadorship roles there is.

Iger isn’t the only Hollywood name that is being floated around for the Biden administration. Quibi and DreamWorks founder Jeffrey Katzenberg — who donated a whopping $617,800 to Biden — is also being considered for an ambassadorship role.

So, Disney fans what do you think will happen? Will Iger be appointed an ambassador somewhere? Will Iger use this as a stepping stone for serving a larger role within our government? I guess we’ll find out soon.
