Pixar: Oh my God we’re back again!
Pixar’s next film Turning Red released its first teaser trailer. Turning Red is about Mei Lee, a 13-year-old who suddenly “poofs” into a giant red panda when she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS).
The teaser trailer features the Backstreet Boys tune “Larger Than Life.” To be honest it’s always a good sign whenever Backstreet Boys music is involved in my opinion. It was also a fitting song for the teaser.
Mei Lee will be voiced by newcomer Rosalie Chiang. Sandra Oh will voice Mei Lee’s protective mother Ming.
Turning Red marks the feature film debut for Oscar-winning director Domee Shi (Bao).

The folks at Pixar are probably desperately hoping that they will be back again (another Backstreet reference) in theaters. Disney right now is only saying Turning Red will release on March 11, 2022. Disney isn’t committing just yet if this will mark Pixar’s return to theaters or if it will become just another Disney+ Original from the Emeryville studio.
