Now that construction is going on at DHS for Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land, many guests ask “Is Hollywood Studios even worth going to?”

Over the past two years, Disney has closed and demolished many rides at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to make way for the two new lands coming by 2019. Before guests pay for tickets to the parks, they ask if they should go to DHS when there is “nothing” there or wait until the new lands to open.

Construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

To those who ask that question, there is actually A LOT to do at DHS even when the construction is going on.

If you’re a thrill seeker, rides such as the Tower of Terror and the Rock n’ Rollercoaster are great attractions that will have you screaming! The Tower of Terror is an accelerated drop tower drop ride that takes you through an episode of The Twilight Zone. The ride is themed around a haunted and abandoned haunted hotel where some “issues” happen with the elevator.

Rock n’ Rollercoaster is an enclosed launched steel coaster that takes you on a wild ride through Hollywood to get backstage of an Aerosmith concert while listening to their tunes.

If you’re not a fan of roller coasters then there are other options for you, such as Toy Story Midway Mania! TSMM is an interactive 4-D shooting attraction. The ride takes guests through many carnival games that feature some of their favorite characters from the Toy Story movies.

Star Tours is a fan favorite for any Star Wars fan. Star Tours takes you through the galaxy that is far far away with C-3PO on a 3D motion simulator.

The Great Movie Ride is also another fun attracion to do at DHS. The Great Movie ride is a indoor dark ride attraction that takes you through some of our favorite classic movies such as The Wizard of Oz and Singin’ in the Rain. The ride features a tour guide and also includes some live action events. If you’re are a big movie fan then this is the ride for you.

If you don’t like rides or just want some fun family entertainment, DHS offers some amazing shows to watch. The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular is a live action stunt show that will have you and your family gasping! Another great show is the Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage. The 20 minute show tells the beloved story of Belle and the Beast.

Hollywood Studios also offers some interesting dining experiences. For example, the Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater Resturant is a ’50s style resturant that plays old sci-fi movie clips. The table is themed to an old car as well!

Hopefully this helps you decide if Disney’s Hollywood Studios is worth the money on your next Disney trip or if its better for you to wait until Star Wars and Toy Story Land open.
