If you have the pleasure of knowing Jocelyn (@disneygratitud1 on Twitter), you know exactly where my story is about to go. If you do not know her, you need to hear the amazing things she is doing within the Disney community!
The term random acts of kindness is defined by the internet as “a selfless actperformed by kind people to either help or cheer up a random stranger, for no reason other than to make people happier.” This is what Jocelyn has set out to do for members of the Disney community that she loves so much. Jocelyn has a special program she runs called Random Acts of Disney Kindness, which she started August 12th of 2018 (her birthday, see how selfless and kind she is?).
I am lucky enough to be a recipient of Jocelyn’s kindness. She is a fairy godmother who can sense when you need a pick-me-up. I receive random e-cards from Jocelyn to brighten my day! I also know some people who have received personalized cards, gift sets awaiting them when they check in to their Disney resort and much more! I took some time to ask Jocelyn some questions yesterday, and she was kind enough to answer them for me.
Q: What made you want to start it?
A: I had been looking for a way to pay it forward and what better way than Random Acts of Kindness Disney style! I also wanted to have a chance to brighten up the world one act at a time.
Q: Where you want to see it go in the future?
A: My hope is that this continues to grow forever and that I can make it bigger and bigger as time goes on. This is so near and dear to my heart that I hope it’s a part of my life for many years to come. My biggest dream is to be able to send families on a Disney vacation that would not otherwise be able to do so.
Q: What should people expect from being a part of it?
A: I make sure every person who is signed up receives acts of kindness. You never know when it’s coming or what it is but it’s always Disney inspired in some way.
Q: What is your favorite part of doing it?
A: It’s truly changed my life in such a positive way! Plus I get to share this with my husband and daughter and it’s amazing! And the responses from the recipients are unbelievable! I’m the lucky one to have the opportunity to do this for others.
