Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction Will Be The World’s Longest Enclosed Coaster

After new construction walls were put up at the old site of Universe of Energy. Disney Parks Blog provided some updates on the mysterious Guardians of the Galaxy coaster that will be coming to Epcot.

Construction walls are up at Universe of Energy

Disney Parks Blog released a video detailing the massive construction that is taking place at the site of the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster. 960 trucks worth of concrete was poured to create a foundation for this future attraction. Just by the look of construction. This attraction is going to be colossal, and gigantic in scope. The attraction is on track to become one of the world’s longest enclosed coasters. A new facility adjacent to the old Universe of Energy is being built to house the attraction.

The Guardians of the Galaxy themed coaster should debut just in time before Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary. The attraction will expand upon the original vision of Epcot’s Future World, with an incredible storyline being developed by Walt Disney Imagineering and the original filmmakers.

Like I’ve said before. I am totally fine with Guardians of the Galaxy coming into Epcot. I’m just thrilled by the shear amount of construction for this attraction. I have full trust in Walt Disney Imagineering and the original filmmakers to deliver a fantastic attraction. Another E-Ticket doesn’t hurt in a park that receives long waits. Not to mention it eliminates a truly outdated attraction that needed tender, love, and care anyways.

A lot of work has to be done in order for the attraction to be ready by 2021. A whole new building is being built to house the world’s longest enclosed coaster. Now we know why the wait for the attraction will be super long.

This along with the recent developments at Wonders of Life makes me wonder what changes are coming to Epcot. I’m sure we will be provided an update on the reimagining of Epcot at D23 2019. I am now assuming that Wonders of Life will be changed into something Marvel related or will be absorbed by this Guardians of the Galaxy mini-land.
