Gary Sinise has been replaced. He will not be returning as CAPCOM. He has been replaced by Westworld’s Gina Torres. She will star in the new pre-show videos. The new version of Mission: Space had its soft opening today.
Gary Sinise was a great CAPCOM. Hopefully Disney Parks find another way to bring him back to a attraction. Maybe he’s the pre-show guy for a new attraction in Pandora? That would be many years into the future but it would be fantastic to see.
Also to anger more fans. One of the themes to Mission: Space “Destiny” was replaced by a instrumental version. Seems like the reopening of Mission: Space has gotten mixed reviews. A lot of criticism for the new pre-show without Gary Sinise. Also a lot of negative thoughts on the removal of “Destiny.” The overall attraction update (which matters the most) is receiving fair reviews. The new missions both look clearer. Although one of the missions changed. I expected a bigger overhaul of Mission: Space. Maybe that will come later in the re-imagining of Epcot? I expect the Mars mission to be removed sooner than later.
Well hopefully Gary Sinise returns to a Disney Parks pre-show soon. It’s the little things that matter. Lieutenant Dan will rise again.
