Earlier this year Super Nintendo World opened at Universal Studios Japan. Now the land is already announcing its first expansion which will be Donkey Kong. It was a poorly kept secret as many people knew Donkey Kong and a roller coaster would be featured in Super Nintendo World.
The Donkey Kong land will increase the size of Super Nintendo World by 70%.
The new land will feature a roller coaster, interactive experiences, themed merchandise, and food.
“I am very happy to be able to make the world of Donkey Kong a reality following the world of Mario,” says Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto in a press release. “I am looking forward to creating a thrilling Donkey Kong experience with the amazing team at Universal. It will take some time until it is completed, but it will be a unique area for not only people who are familiar with Donkey Kong games but for all guests.”
The Donkey Kong area will open in 2024.
Super Nintendo World is also coming to Universal’s Epic Universe in Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood and Singapore.
