After almost five years of no runDisney events at Disney’s West Coast theme park, the events have returned in a big way with Disneyland just unveiling the themes, and prices, of the second event of 2024!
First the good news! The themes of this Halloween run (in early September) look like a lot of fun.

First, the return of Yoga in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle! Thursday, September 5, 2024.

Some seriously Goofy Yoga, hosted by, yep, Goofy.

Disneyland Halloween 5K — Friday, September 6, 2024
“A Race That’s a Real Treat!”
It’s a Chip n’ Dale goes trick-or-treating themed run through the Disneyland Resort.

Disneyland Halloween 10K — Saturday, September 7, 2024
“A Hauntingly Fun Run!”
The 10K is a Haunted Mansion-themed run featuring Hitchhiking Ghosts, the Hatbox Ghost, Singing Busts, and more!

Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon — Sunday, September 8, 2024
“Talk About Running Amok (Amok, Amok, Amok, Amok, Amok)!”
The Sanderson Sisters as portrayed by Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Clarabelle Cow, and (my favorite!) Figaro as Binx!

And, finally, a chilling challenge! The Chills & Thrills Challenge is for those daring enough to run BOTH the 10K and the Half Marathon!
“The Run of Your Dreams…or Nightmares!”
This is a Nightmare Before Christmas-themed challenge that will net runners three medals: the 10K, the Half, and the Challenge medal.

And, last but not least, runners who complete either a Marathon or a Half Marathon at Walt Disney World this year and also finish the Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon will also receive the Coast to Coast Race Challenge medal.
=====================================
Now the bad news: prices have risen considerably since the Disneyland race earlier this month, almost $50 more for September’s Challenge than the comparable Challenge this month. After some sizeable logistical difficulties at the January race, some might find the increased cost a lot to swallow. All races do include unlimited PhotoPass photos taken during your run, which is a new benefit; so it balances out a little.

Hope to see some of you there!
