Today on the Disney Parks Blog it was announced that two additional Fastpass rides would be added to the Disneyland Resort. Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland and Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney California Adventure.
Disneyland also announced a new upcharge to the Fastpass system called MaxPass which will be an “introductory” charge of $10/day. MaxPass includes the ability to make your own Fastpass reservations via the Disneyland app on the same day as well as unlimited downloads of Photopass photos for the day. Disneyland Resort APs will also have the ability to use MaxPass on a daily or yearly basis. MaxPass is expected to launch “later this year.”
It was made clear that guests would continue to be able to obtain Fastpasses as normal for those who opt not to use MaxPass at Fastpass kiosks near each ride entrance.
A similar system, FastPass+, at Walt Disney World is included with park admission.
