On top of all this exciting news. John Williams will be composing brand new Star Wars scores for Galaxy’s Edge. So the land will have it’s own distinct music and feel. Earlier in the year, this was rumored, and it now has been confirmed. It is currently unclear if composer Michael Giacchino will have any involvement. This song will be the theme to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The land will also have optional interactive elements. The interactive elements will be enhanced by the Play Disney Parks app. This is how the Disney Parks Blog described the other activities in Galaxy’s Edge.
And there’s so much more to do at this exotic outpost. For example, you can visit a street market in Black Spire Outpost, shop at food stalls where you can enjoy delicacies like blue milk, or visit the Cantina where you can see an old friend Rex, as well as encounter creatures and characters that are hallmarks of the Star Wars universe.

Bob Chapek also revealed details for the upcoming Star Wars resort. The fully-immersive resort will be a multi-day adventure. It will be a luxury starship with first-class dining to space-port cabins.

Guests will need to take a pod to the luxury starship. R2-D2 is seen in the concept art piloting the pod. I’m sure there is a possibility he will be at the starship. Below is concept art of a family inside a pod. This truly is a unique way to kick off your vacation, and a fun story element to get to your room.

The whole resort will stick with the Star Wars storyline. Even including the restaurants within the resort.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the biggest undertaking in Walt Disney Imagineering history. The projects look amazing so far. Yes, I would’ve probably enjoyed more on-ride concept art for Smugglers Run and Rise of Resistance but what we got will do. 2019 is gearing up to be a huge year for Disney at the parks.
