Disney is hard at work on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, coming to EPCOT during Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration. Today, during Josh D’Amaro’s presentation at IAAPA virtual conference. We got to receive a first look at the inside of the attraction and see the Omnicoaster in action.
The main photo that shows the track is only showing just a tiny bit of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The ride will go through a show building that is 12 stories high, so this photo is just a tease.
Disney released a new photo of the vehicles for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The attraction itself will be a family-friendly storytelling roller coaster that can spin 360 degrees and do a reverse launch.
Disney calls the system the Omnicoaster. The Omnicoaster system pays homage to the Omnimover attractions that Walt Disney Imagineers pioneered back in the day.
Here is a video of the Omnicoaster system in motion.
This is on the top of my list for one of the most exciting additions coming to a Disney Park.
Currently, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open in 2021.
