Six years ago today, we launched Boardwalk Times. Just like any other website things change, and we’ve come a long way since April 2017. I truly believe Boardwalk Times is a place where we strive to tell awesome stories, cultivate creativity, and create compelling content. The past six years have had their fair share of challenges but we’ve also had our triumphs. I expect that to be no different for our 6th anniversary here in 2023. However, I feel this year will be a transformative year for the multimedia company.

Boardwalk Times will continue to expand, excite, and entertain as it celebrates its 6th anniversary.

Boardwalk Times: Stories from the Seashore

If you haven’t yet, subscribe to Boardwalk Times: Stories from the Seashore. It’s our monthly newsletter that covers Disney, its parks, and its businesses. I truly believe more Substack may be in Boardwalk Times’ future.

More Boardwalk Times on Substack coming soon!

Last year during our 5th anniversary, I teased a second newsletter concept. I’ve been hard at work developing that. I’m also developing a third newsletter concept that may evolve into something larger.

Substack and newsletters are something that we’re leaning into hard. It gives us a direct line to our readers.

We’re also going to continue our coverage of doing quarterly calls and business mailbags. We are going to strive to cover those Q&As and other shareholders' events that are often overlooked by other media outlets in this space.

Overall though in 2023, expect Boardwalk Times written content to feature sharp insights and editorials along with deep dives from your favorite fandoms (theme parks, Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, etc.), opinion pieces, explainers, news, and more.

Plus you’ll enjoy all of our writing in a clean, ad-free environment.

Videos are something we’re working on. But unlike, prior anniversary celebration posts, I’m not going to announce or tease anything. It’s just something I wanted to reiterate. In an ideal world, you’ll see compelling short-form and long-form videos from Boardwalk Times down the line. It’s another area that I really want Boardwalk Times to go into and improve on.

Our podcast network has gained an international reach since we started back in 2020.

Our podcasts have been listened to in the United States, Canada, Netherlands, Mexico, Indonesia, United Kingdom, India, Singapore, Finland, Germany, Australia, Ireland, Italy, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Puerto Rico, Serbia, Argentina, Romania, Brazil, Malaysia, Ivory Coast, France, Philippines, Slovakia, Guernsey, Switzerland, Bosnia, Hong Kong, Malta, Denmark, South Africa, Austria, Belgium, and Kuwait.

Wow, what a list. And I’m sure we’ve added a few more countries since this post has been written.

We are going to push with new episodes from Boardwalk Times Multiverse of Marvel, This is the Waycast and The Zach Perilstein Show. I’d expect more unique episodes coming from Multiverse of Marvel and This is the Waycast in the future in addition to our usual companion after-shows.

We do have other podcast series in development. As I tend to expand the podcast network to feature more series. I’m hoping to deliver some podcast series that are unique and different from what we already have.

Also due to Disney’s ever-changing schedule with Disney+. We aren’t going to be giving specific dates on what shows we will be doing but we can tease what is at least confirmed for us.

Boardwalk Times Multiverse of Marvel

Skrull SZN, our Secret Invasion after-show, will premiere in June.

Living Loki Season Two will be back this year. Our Loki after-show.

When it comes to Watcher’s World, our What If…? after-show, we are awaiting Disney+ to give a release date and release strategy and that will determine how we cover the series.

We will be covering the Marvel Studios films in-depth plus more bonus episodes (Way Too Early Phase 6 Preview, A Look Into Marvel’s Disney Parks Universe, and more).

This is the Waycast

This is the Waycast will be doing after-shows for Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew.

I’d also expect more bonus episodes from This is the Waycast. There is a lot of ground to cover when it comes to covering Star Wars.

The Zach Perilstein Show

The Zach Perilstein Show will have new episodes throughout the year. There are plenty of guests I want to have on this show this year. I’m excited to talk to interesting people from the worlds of Disney, themed entertainment, and beyond. I also have a few more “Staff Series” episodes that need to be released.

Support us on Ko-Fi

2023 we will make a greater push on Ko-Fi as well. What do you want to see from us on there? Let us know!

I am however working on something and all I’m going to say is that it’s the start of something new. It’s something I’ve wanted to do with Boardwalk Times for a long time, and it’s almost a reality. I’m hoping to give an update in the near future.

I wouldn’t call it a rebuild but we’re going to try and expand, reinvent, and retool Boardwalk Times this year.

So we can set ourselves up better for ongoing and future success, and we can continue to tell awesome stories, cultivate creativity, create compelling content, and most importantly excite, entertain, and provide value to our followers.

I know this was a different anniversary post than past years. If you can read through the lines, there was actually quite a bit of news in here. I’d expect that we will return to our announcement-heavy, new content-focused anniversary posts next year. It just felt right with this year being a year of transformation for Boardwalk Times just to sit back and reflect and just slightly tease a few things.

However, we will continue to provide insightful and enjoyable content and stories. There will also be more to announce in 2023 for Boardwalk. We are excited to celebrate our 6th anniversary all year long. It’s going to be a transformative and fantastic year, and we can’t thank you enough for always following along.
